Spread the love

We are excited to announce our candidacy for NJ State Legislature in LD25!

  • Jeff Grayzel, Mayor of Morris Township, running for State Senate
  • Lauren Barnett, former Mayor and current Deputy Mayor of Mountain Lakes, running for State Assembly
  • Patricia Veres, Council Member in Wharton from 2017-2019, running for State Assembly

As local elected leaders, we understand the everyday issues that residents in our district face. Our focus has been on getting things done in our communities, leading with a positive vision and a pragmatic, problem-solving approach. We are running for the New Jersey Legislature to bring our “on the ground” experience to the state-level, and believe we are uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between Trenton and our local communities.

Please join us by signing our nominating petitions today!

See the two links below and please make sure you fill out both petitions. One thing to watch out for: After you have completed your electronic signature, please make sure you also fill in your ADDRESS right below the signature. That’s the last step, and it’s easy to miss. Without the address, your petition will be rejected.

Over the next few weeks, we look forward to sharing more about our positive vision for the district and working with you to better understand the needs of each of the communities that make up LD25.

Grayzel, who will give up his township committee seat to take on Bucco, is making his second bid for the Senate   He was the first Democratic mayor of Morris Township.

Grayzel is now serving his third term on the township committee after scoring a landslide 16-point victory in 2018.

The last Democratic senator from the 25th was Gordon MacInnes, also a Morris Township resident and former officeholder who ousted Senate Majority Leader John Dorsey in 1993.  MacInnes was ousted four years later by Anthony R. Bucco (R-Boonton), the senator’s late father.

Grayzel enjoyed a long career at Bristol-Myers Squibb and now serves as president of a private medical device development firm. He received degrees in economics and operations research from Cornell University and a master’s in industrial engineering from Columbia University.

See you on the campaign trail!
